OUR SPECIAL ACTIVITY!

All three classes have fiished their treasure maps this past week, so today we celebrated with a special activity.

Emily visited class as "Calm Water" and talked to us about the First Thanksgiving. We looked at the special projects from older classes and learned about the holiday. Then we each invented our own Native American name and wrote it on our new books! The boys and girls that wanted their faces painted reflecting their new name got it....

Some of our favorite names were:

RED FOX
PURPLE FLOWER
GREEN FLOWER
YELLOW STAR
GREEN LEAF...
AND MANY MORE!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hoy hemos celebrado la fiesta de Acción de Gracias con nuestras clases hermanadas...hemos hecho pulseras y mucho mas! Hemos hecho grupos con las clases de cuarto.

Feelings and feeling thankful

I AM FEELING....

We have been learning how to express our feelings through assemblies, gestures, powerpoints and books. Here are some of the ways we have learned to recognize and show our feelings:

Ellen Thesleff's Echo, 1891, Finland

INCLUDED AND LEFT OUT

AND WE HAVE TALKED ABOUT FEELING THANKFUL...

Natural Science. My Body.

MY SCHOOL

Hola a todos y todas, desde el área de Science hemos empezado a trabajar una nueva unidad "My school". Para que podáis ir repasando el vocabulario os dejamos las canciones que cantamos con los niños¡¡¡

P IS FOR PUMPKIN!

We continue to use our notebooks to review the Jolly Phonics sounds, gestures and letter formation. We were very lucky to have 2 giant pumpkins to study in class for P day!

THE DOT

We have just finished our unit based on Peter H. Reynolds' the dot

These are some of the words we have learned how to read and write:

On the very special library day in our school, some classes went to the library to read their finished books!

FLYAWAY KATIE

One of the first books we read together was Polly Dunbar's Flyaway Katie, a story about a girl who thinks of a creative way to spend an afternoon at home. We remembered many words from our time with Fernando, such as some body parts, colors, feelings...

We even made a mural together with all three classes. Each student decorated their own feather! For El Día Europeo de las Lenguas, we talked about the difference between words and not-words, decorating the mural with examples of each.

OUR LITERACY CLASS!

We did many different fun activities to get to know our Literacy class and its spaces and routines: we decorated paper for the windows to allow natural light in all day; we practised letters with the sounds and gestures Fernando taught us; we learned how to write letters on the board...these and many more!

We also watch and listen to this song sometimes to remember the importance of raising our hand in class; there are many very special ideas we all want to share, but taking turns allows the class to listen to each and every one of them!
